IMOCA is pleased to announce the call for applications to our fifth annual Graduate Residency Award. Any upcoming 2012 graduate from any Republic of Ireland college, university or other institute of higher learning is eligible to apply, regardless of degree conferred. As 2012 also marks our 5-Year Anniversary of Exhibitions, the residency award has expanded and grown along with the institute, and this year will feature some additional opportunities and responsibilities.
The award includes a one-year working studio residency for the facilitation of work intended for a solo exhibition with IMOCA. The residency will be documented online by the awardee, as well as published in the show catalogue and the incipient IMOCA YearBook compendium.
The award will also include reviews with internal and external curators and practicing artists, as well as opportunities to present the related practice at various events.
Award recipients will be granted a private workspace at Moxie Studios, Ireland’s largest studio complex and independent art resource centre; besides the in-house network of almost 70 artists and creative practitioners, this will include access and safety induction to the various workshops and tools as necessary or relevant to the practice. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to an interview. Online applications only. Deadline is 5:00PM Friday, May 11, 2012.
